Charging

This is called when a player takes more than two fast strides (for the purpose of excellerating into a check) or travels an excessive distance to accelerate through a body check for the purpose of punishing the opponent. 

Examples include:

  • elevation into the opponent to deliver a check
  • accelerating through a check for the purpose of punishing the opponent
  • skating a great distance for the purpose of delivering a check with excessive force
  • excessive contact with elevation on contact with the opponent
  • contact with an unsuspecting opponent not in possession and
